Pick the right tax year
Many HMRC forms change each year. Check the year on the form matches the income you’re reporting, not the year you’re filing in.
Online is usually quicker
A lot of paper forms now have an online version, and some can only be sent online. The GOV.UK page tells you which.
Companies House filings are public
Most of what you send to Companies House goes on the public register. Check what will be shown before you file.
Got an old form number?
AR01 is now the confirmation statement CS01, and LL AR01 is now LL CS01. CWF1 and SA1 are now online services. Search the old number and you’ll find the current one.
